Be Your Own Biggest Fan

real life picture of me writing this blog:)
So what does it even mean to be your own biggest fan? Does it mean to cheer for yourself when nobody else does, or to hang pictures of yourself all over the house? Not exactly. It's all about finding the best version of yourself.
When your biggest fan is you, it means you know how to make yourself smile, you know that it's okay to laugh at yourself (literally), and most importantly, you know how to take yourself out of reality for a few moments.
Ways I find myself being my own biggest fan are:
Spontaneous Dance Parties
Cheesy, I know. But it's true. Spontaneous parties are fun and freeing. When you dance alone in your room, you don't care what you look like, or how ugly your moves are. Most of the time, I don't even know the words to the songs I'm dancing to. Yet, it is a truly freeing feeling. Studies have really shown that dancing improves your mood. So, shut your door and turn up the music.
Smile!!
Do you ever look at yourself in the mirror? Not just look, but interact? Sounds a little crazy, right? I'm not talking about when your reflection starts talking to you like in the movies. I'm talking about when you really take a second to look at yourself. Smile at yourself. Maybe even wink at yourself. Seeing yourself smile is one of those things that automatically makes you smile again, because you like seeing yourself with a happy expression.
Talk To Yourself
At this point, you probably really think I'm crazy. Or if you're anything like me, you're probably wanting to convince me that I'm actually normal. However, I find myself talking to myself all the time when I'm alone. This happens a lot in the car. I randomly think of things and go on and on about them aloud. Sometimes I even tel myself jokes or say funny things, and then laugh at myself at tell myself how funny I am.
Honestly, just find ways to make yourself smile and be happy. And don't be ashamed to be your own biggest fan. You know yourself best. It's not selfish, it's self-love.
love always,
angelina
